How does Invisalign work?
With Invisalign, you get a series of custom-made, clear, plastic aligners that fit over your teeth. The aligners gradually shift your teeth into the position mapped out by your orthodontist at Portal Family Dentistry & Orthodontics.
You can remove the aligners to eat and brush your teeth, but you need to wear them for 20 hours a day to get the best results.
As you replace each aligner, your teeth slowly shift in increments, week by week, until they reach the final position your dentist prescribed.
Visit the practice about once every six weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time typically lasts 9-15 months, and the number of aligners worn during treatment is 18-30, depending on your individual needs.
